We chose to base the layout on this town for a number of reasons:

It has plenty of interesting physical features such as the river with it's many interesting bridges and the canal.

It was the confluence of four class one railroads during the 50's, each with it's own passenger and goods facilities.

It had and still has a street running section of track.

It also featured a narrow gauge system, street car system and an

interurban railway.

All those things add up to make an interesting subject to research and model, with scope for future additions.
